In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:16
I take time out of Friday’s lesson to talk to my (Chinese) students, to share Lu Xinliu’s prognosis.
Shén me? Huh? Prog…no…ssss…huh?
Say again? How to spell?
Prognosis. p-r-o-g-n-o-s-i-s
Yù hòu.
I tell them Lu Xinliu is going back home soon to Guăngxī. She is getting healthier, happier, and slowly turning into a fruit basket.
They laugh. They applaud. I smile.
These wonderful loving students, at no prompting from their teacher, decide to send her good luck messages on blackboard.
What an impromptu show of love. How refreshingly revealing to see God move His children into acts of lovingkindness. One student even writes in English on the chalkboard
I cannot have said it nor Sister Sledge sung it any better.
Indeed, we are family.
Come on, Lu Xinliu! Keep fighting!

Dear God, I am grateful for these students. You use their actions of care and concern to help Lu Xinliu’s heart shine a little brighter. Your messages are as bright as burning bushes or as humble as words on chalkboard.
