Children of God

Logline: See the last remaining sibling’s emotional journey that shaped his 89-year life.
Tagline: 100 years in the making, 11 months to complete, 13 minutes to watch.
Takeaway: Rest for the weary.

‘Children of God’ was born out of inspiration from a photo that was shared with me of my aunts and uncles on my father’s side (see image below). I didn’t even know this photo existed.

Aunt Jane, Dad, Aunt Virginia, Uncle Martin, Uncle Ken, Aunt Mary, and Aunt Margaret – circa 1940

The more I looked and studied this image the more I fell in love with it, especially my father (Jack) as a little boy. I find it amazing that Dad and I looked so much alike at the age of five. The apple falls not far from the tree.

Fast forward to 2019-2021. These years were filled with profound sadness for Dad. He lost three siblings in the span of 14 months. The latest was the sudden death of his older sister Virginia which now means Dad is the only surviving child born of his parents Lester and Emma Terry (married 1922). In other words, Dad is the last remaining sibling. Think of the heavenly family reunion which awaits Dad.

So the question that went around my brain was “God, what can I do to celebrate this beautiful wonderful photo that was taken in 1940?”. Well, the Holy Spirit told me to write something. So in a matter of days, I wrote a short-animation screenplay which eventually led to me finding an animation company called Brainy Pixel Productions. Thankfully Brainy Pixel and co-owner Michael Thoenes helped bring the screenplay to fruition. It is called “Children of God (The Last Remaining Sibling)“.

I fervently pray that all who view it will find the comfort, healing, and amazing love that only Jesus can provide.

All for the King.

  1. The animation was great! Wonderful but heartbreaking video all inspired by a photograph. Made me teared up, tbh
