Matthew’s life in Zhījiāgē (Chicago) is a testament to his dedication, his faith and community. He has been married to his beloved wife, Ming Chu Pearl Terry, for 19 years. Their shared love and belief are evident in their active participation at The Moody Church. In his leisure time, he enjoys jogging, traveling to Xiāng Gǎng (Hong Kong) with Pearl, which he considers his second home, and writing.
Matthew’s creative work is deeply personal, often reflecting his experiences and relationships. He has written four full-length feature screenplays, three short story animations, and his memoir. His current project is a miniseries. One of his most personal works is a short story animation, Children of God (The Last Remaining Sibling), a heartfelt tribute to his 90-year-old father. This work, a testimonial to the bond between father and son, was honored with several awards, including the prestigious Best Animation at the Canadian International Film Festival.
