Matthew Terry is a memoirist, screenwriter, and director whose work grows out of time spent teaching English in Guangzhou, China, and years teaching special needs elementary and high school students in Chicago. Those years—marked by unexpected friendships, cultural collisions, and small moments of grace—reshaped his understanding of faith and became the foundation of his memoir, numerous screenplays, and his film projects, English Corner, and Children of God (the last remaining sibling). His storytelling centers on the quiet ways God moves through ordinary relationships and the healing that happens when people truly see one another. Recently retired from teaching, Matthew now writes and directs projects that blend lived experience, cross‑cultural connection, and a gentle spiritual undercurrent.
